I am a VBox newbie too, but here goes. Start VirtualBox, create a new virtual
machine, create a virtual hard disk of, say, 5GB. This virtual disk is just a
file under XP. Make sure the CD is enabled, and then 'start' the virtual
machine. It will boot and install OpenSuse entirely within the virtual hard
disk, and not affect your host copy of XP at all.
