I've just started using VirtualBox, and have to say how impressed I am with it. I am running Ubuntu 7.04 as host with Win2k as guest, but am having a couple of problems with shared folders when accessing them from the guest.
1. If I open a .doc file in WordPad, most of it appears as an unintelligible mess of characters. This is the case even if I create a new file, save it to the shared folder, and then reopen it. The files open OK on the Ubuntu host (in OpenOffice), or on Windows running natively. 2. Often, I am unable to save a file that I have opened from the shared folder. Typically, I get a message saying that another application is using the file, or that it is read-only when neither of these is the case. I'd appreciate any help. -- Stewart H Posting via Gmane.
