I'm trying to run VirtualBox in os x server 10.5 on an intel xeon
xserve. Trying to launch from the applications menu results in the
issue described in the User FAQ:
"Failed to create VirtualBox COM object
 Callee RC: 0x80470007"
I uninstalled and reinstalled as suggested but no luck. Then I ran
VBoxSVC from the command line as suggested. While that was running I
could launch VirtualBox from the applications menu. It let me create a
virual machine. I connected it to the existing physical cdrom drive but
every time I started it, it just crashed with "Aborted". The physical
machine is remote and I thought the cdrom may have been ejected. So I
downloaded the iso image ( Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy amd64 mini.oso ) to try
that. Then whenever I tried to edit the virtual machine settings to
point at the iso ( or any other setting ) it gave another error I failed
to capture thinking it was repeatable. I closed VirtualBox and VBoxSVC
and tried to start them back up. VirtualBox failed to start with
another error so I started writing this message. Now I can't capture
that error either because it just started up and let me select the iso.
It still crashed with "Aborted" when I tried to start it. I tried
the i386 version of the iso and disabled ACPI but still have the same
problem except I can't reproduce either of the last two errors.
    Any suggestions?
