sorry fort hat - thought it is enoght to change the subject. Anyway... I
have done what you described below, earlier before (I asked this question a
few days before cause I didn't know how to change the resolution at all). I
inserted the resolution in the file - but if I try to select it, my screen
looks... hmmm white with many stripes in it :).

You have to manually add the required resolution to /etc/X11/xorg.conf in
your guest. This is described in the user manual section 4.3.2. We are aware
that manually editing a file is not very user friendly. Future versions of
VBox (not 1.5.4 yet) will improve this.
