Seems to be a continuing problem w/ GA. I had shared folders working when I first installed VB 1.5.4, but then they mysteriously stopped working. I had to do the following to restore:
1. removing all shared folders within the guest (any "Network Places" or mapped drives that you have) 2. reboot guest 3. removing shared folders from VB 4. reboot guest 5. uninstalling guest additions from within the guest 6. reboot guest 7. reinstall guest additions from within the guest 8. reboot guest 9. define shared folders from VB 10. Add new "Network Places" or re-map drives.
