Ok, using VirtualBox to boot a native Windows installation does not seem to work too well... I installed a fresh copy from within VBox, it bootet up once in qemu, detected hardware and crash when shutting down. Afterwards I could not boot it any more, neither in VBox nor in qemu. I reinstalled again, using VBox, and tried to boot the installed Windows natively, again I just get a blue screen early in the boot process. Unfortunately, it's gone so quickly I cannot read it, and Windows reboots. I had not yet installed any of VBox's guest additions so far. To summarize, VirtualBox unfortunately does not seem to be usuable for booting an installed Windows installation, so I'll just hope qemu's USB and general periphery device support will make quick progress in the future. If anyone still has an idea what I could try to make Windows and VBox cooperate, please let me know.
