Since you didn't specify your host os, I'll assume it's windows. So,
to upgrade under windows:

1. Go to add/remove programs, and remove your current installation of
   virtualbox. Don't worry, you won't lose any of your vm settings, at
   least I didn't.

2. Install the new version of virtualbox.

3. Install the new guest additions on your guest machines.

That's all there is to it. If you're running on a host os other than
windows, someone else using that os will need to help you.
