Hi all, Im very new to virtual box, but Ive read the forums, and bugtracker
and not found anything specifically like what Im seeing so I am asking on
the list.

I installed virtualbox on my kubuntu gutsy development machine yesterday.

that went off without a hitch, the only problem was answered in the forum
and Ive got a working virtualbox.

I created a new vbox and installed the os, (debian etch in my test case) all
of this witout any problems.

Now enter my vnc server.

I poked a hole in my firewall to allow me to ssh directly to my dev machine,
and i created an ssh tunnel to port 5900 so I can encrypt vnc traffic on the
internet to my box

now i open a vnc viewer on the remote box and whammo Ive got my dev gui and
all my testing tools

Im using x11vnc so I can use the existing X session instead of tools like
vncserver where you have to create a NEW X session.

As long as virtualbox is not running, then the mouse on the remote vnc
client stays in sync with my dev machine.

Whenever I start a vbox and it goes to graphical mode and (like the debian
gtk based installer, or windows) I get two mouse indicators.

One is a point/dot
where the vnc client thinks my mouse is, and the other is a standard
mouse pointer which is where the mouse actually is.

The two are way out of sync. And seem to get more out of sync the more you
try to use the mouse.

The odd thing is that as soon as the "dot" cursor gets off of a vbox window,
the NON vbox mouse cursor appears and stays in sync with my "dot".

the Forums suggested that this could be a result of Mouse Integeration and
needed to turn it off,
but my reading suggested that Mouse Integration could only happen after the
os was installed and the virtualbox tools were installed.

This is happening during virtualbox initial setup, so If I understand what
Im reading correctly, MI isn't running at all, so there is no way to disable
it.

Anybody have an idea what to do about this?
