Hrm. Are you running from a real partition or from a virtual disk? I thought memory was a problem when I noticed that the hard disk (the little icon on the bottom right of the vbox guest window) seems to take quite a beating for just about everything so I upped it to 512MB but with no improvement. Hard disk still takes quite beating for every single action I execute in the guest. b.
