Hi all,
I'm having problems with serial ports.
I'm using VirtualBox 1.5.2-1.5.6 with Opensuse 10.3 (host) and win2000
(guest).
I have a Casio Pocket Viewer PDA which syncs with the PC using the serial
port. I guess that the Casio sync program may depend on some timing because I
can choose different baud rates in the program, but I do not have to
configure baud rates in the PDA.

Using VirtualBox 1.5.2 the (windows) sync program works fine. No problem at
all.
Using VirtualBox 1.5.4 it seems the serial port is not setup right by
virtualbox, because I must run minicom to configure the serial port before
running virtualbox and the sync program.
Also, if the com port is enabled in the VM, virtualbox takes a long time to
close when shutting down the VM.
VirtualBox 1.5.6 has the same problems as 1.5.4, and, in addition, if I click
in the "serial ports" link in the "Details" tab, instead of opening the
serial ports configuration page in the VM configuration dialog, it opens
the "General" page; and when shutting down, I get the following error:

Ioctl failed for serial host device '/dev/ttyS1' (VERR_INVALID_POINTER). The
device will not work properly.
ID Error: DrvHostSerialFail
Gravedad: Aviso

I tested both with opensuse OSE builds and with virtualbox.org binaries.
Regards,
Miguel Angel
