With Vista 1 GB is sufficient as long as you give _ALL_ of it to that OS 
(sic). With anything less, Vista would be a dog. Adding the overhead of VB 
and eliminating any possibility of SMP would only make it worse.

My guess is that one would need 2 GB in the host to run Vista as a guest. I 
have 3 GB on my current laptop, which triple boots 64-bit openSUSE 10.3, 
64-bit Kubuntu 8.04, and 32-bit Vista Home Premium. With that much RAM and 
SP1 installed, Vista actually works pretty well, as much as I hate to admit 
it. Of course, both of the Linux versions work exceedingly well.
