Since several VirtualBox versions now the key "3" on my german
keyboard is not working in a german Windows 2000 system guest on a
Linux host. I have seen numerous similar problems reported with other
non-US keyboards, but so far no solution.
More Details:
On the Linux host I have a Xorg 6.9 X-Server with the following
options related to the keyboard:
Option "XkbRules" "xfree86"
Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
Option "XkbLayout" "de"
Option "XkbVariant" "nodeadkeys"
Option "XkbCompat" ""
In the VirtualBox log files I have:
Your keyboard layout does not appear to fully supported by VirtualBox ....
The correct table for your layout is:
"^\xb0","1!","2\"","3\xb6","4$","5%","6&","7/","8(","9)","0=","\xdf?","'`",
"qQ","wW","eE","rR","tT","zZ","uU","iI","oO","pP","\xfc\xdc","+*",
"aA","sS","dD","fF","gG","hH","jJ","kK","lL","\xf6\xd6","\xe4\xc4","#'",
"yY","xX","cC","vV","bB","nN","mM",",;",".:","-_","<>","\x0\x0","\x0\x0"
Very strange. If the system knows that this is the correct keyboard
layout then why does it not use it ????
