While this is arguably of minor interest; I have made the following 
experiment: I run Linux as guest on Windows XP in Virtualbox from a real 
hard disk. I can also boot Linux directly.

I have installed wine in Linux and run some windows program in it. The 
result is very very slow. Normally the speed difference between an 
application being run when Linux run in Virtualbox is only slightly 
slower than when  it run natively and an application being run on wine 
is slightly slower than when run natively. But in this case it is much 
more than twice slightly slower.

I just ask why? is it something particular in wine?
