While this is arguably of minor interest; I have made the following experiment: I run Linux as guest on Windows XP in Virtualbox from a real hard disk. I can also boot Linux directly.
I have installed wine in Linux and run some windows program in it. The result is very very slow. Normally the speed difference between an application being run when Linux run in Virtualbox is only slightly slower than when it run natively and an application being run on wine is slightly slower than when run natively. But in this case it is much more than twice slightly slower. I just ask why? is it something particular in wine?
