Hi,

on Ubuntu 8.10, I get the error Message

---8<---
Could not load the Host USB Proxy Service (VERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND). The
service might be not installed on the host computer.

Result Code:
NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x00004005)
Component:
Host
Interface:
IHost {489fb370-c227-4d43-9761-ceb28484fd9f}
--->8---

when I go to the VirtualBox Preferences.

In the VirtualBox FAQ [1] they suggest to activate some lines in
/etc/init.d/mountdevsubfs.sh to make /proc/bus/usb/* available on
Ubuntu Gutsy as a solution to this problem.
So I opened mountdevsubfs.sh on Intrepid, but there aren't any lines
about usb that I could activate. It looks like in Intrepid the Ubuntu
developers completely removed the support for /proc/usb in
mountdevsubfs.sh and not just commented it out.

Does anyone have any suggestions how I could get VirtualBox USB support to work?

Regards
