You may understand that I am still a bit confused here since I have just
started to play with VBox two days ago:

-make sure that VBoxGuestAdditions.iso is mounted: I have got the ISO
located, but mounting it where and how? I tried the File >> Virtual Disk
Manager option with no virtual machine running as well as in a running
machine

-open a terminal and cd to /media/cdrom (or your mount point)
> -type this: sh -i ./VBoxLinuxAdditions-x86.run (or the -amd64
file)
with always the same result "sh: Can't open ....

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/gngdowid/.VirtualBox#
sh ./VBoxLinuxAdditions-x86.run
sh: Can't open ./VBoxLinuxAdditions-x86.run
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/gngdowid/.VirtualBox# cd Machines
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/gngdowid/.VirtualBox/Machines#
sh ./VBoxLinuxAdditions-x86.run
sh: Can't open ./VBoxLinuxAdditions-x86.run
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/gngdowid/.VirtualBox/Machines# cd ..
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/gngdowid/.VirtualBox# cd VDI
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/gngdowid/.VirtualBox/VDI#
sh ./VBoxLinuxAdditions-x86.run
sh: Can't open ./VBoxLinuxAdditions-x86.run
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/gngdowid/.VirtualBox/VDI# cd ..
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/gngdowid/.VirtualBox#
sh ./VBoxLinuxAdditions-x86.run
sh: Can't open ./VBoxLinuxAdditions-x86.run
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/gngdowid/.VirtualBox#

By the way, I also installed VBox on my Windows XP laptop with none of
these problems. What is wrong with Ubuntu 8.04 / VBox combination?
A Google search for the mouse capture problem yielded plenty of user
requests for help in this respect, but still only answers which can only
be understood by command line linux people I guess.
Please think about us new upstarts using Linux.

Cheers, Gerd
