what's bad avout i486? Most Slackware packages are compiled for i486...

There are slackbuilds for libcap on slackbuilds.org. You'll also find 
slackbuilds for VirtualBox there.
libcap shouldn't be an issue with that. I have not yet tried myself to compile 
2.1.0, but I know at least one other person who is already running it on 
Slackware.

FWIW, I do not think this is an issue with VirtualBox (I might be wrong 
though).
