Hi I've just updated VBOX from 2.0.6 to 2.1.0, windows GUEST continued working but my linux GUEST network stopped working... My HOST is Linux Slackware...
In the VM network configuration appear eth0 and eth1 in the list of the devices, but Network name appears in gray and can't be modified, no matter if I click on eth0 or eth1 (it appears more to be informative than network device selection) there is no network in my linux GUEST... If I run 'lsmod' it shows PCNET32 module loaded, but if I try 'ifconfig' just appears localhost device (lo)... what can be wrong? I had an issue upgrading 2.0.6->2.1.0 with libcap 1.10, it did not compile, so I compiled libcap2 and make a link libcap2<-libcap1 so VBOX could detect the library and install with no problems... I don't think it is the problem since the Windows GUEST is working 100% with the network, so Linux GUEST should too, but it does not... What can be wrong? Never had problems with upgrades, just this time, always just uninstalled previous VBOX and installed the new one upgrading the GUEST virtualbox tools and everything continued working, until 2.1.0 Please help, I liked VBOX and would not like to stop using it because network does not work properly now...
