There were several fixes including the one you've already tested (it proved to have effect when attached to tap devices only after all). Probably the most notable fix is the one that prevents the packets sent by guest from returning immediately back to guest network, the one accounting for many weird symptoms (IPv6 failure, duplicate IP complaints, etc). So you may want to give it a try.
