If you have IPP enabled on your xubuntu host, you'd set up the printer
to print to port 631. So for example (I'll use a Win2KPro guest on an
Ubuntu 8.04 as the primary and a standard 8.04 that has a Canon MP750
connected to it as the shared printer):

Primary (Win2KP): Add printer via Control Panel|Printers - Network
Printer|Next|Connect to a printer on the internet or on your
intranet|URL= http://<ipaddressoftargetmachine>:631/printers/<printername>

So for instance:
http://192.168.1.100:631/printers/MP750

For some reason, the most recent updates of Windows doesn't like or
understand:
ipp:////192.168.1.100:631/printers/MP750
you need to use http even though ipp is being used via port 631.

Interesting part is that I can print from a VirtualBox guest across my
lan instantly, whereas if I do it from a guest on the same box it has a
10sec (or more) delay.
