Interesting behavior. I don't use seamless mode because I prefer to know and see the difference between the host and guest. That and the task bar is annoying... it would be nice if there were some way to integrate the available seamless windows with the GUI environment you are hosting in, but frankly, the variables involved would be rather complex so I don't imagine such a thing being implemented. A Windows task bar sitting there while my other host GUI controls are hanging around is just weird.
Now that you describe the solution, it does seem somewhat obvious, but at the same time, I doubt it would have occurred to me so quickly either. The same would likely be true if you were over a guest's program window of other types as well. (Have you tested this to verify consistency?)
