Hello,

I'm running virtualbox 2.2.0 on CentOS 5.3 x86_64 with a Windows Vista 32bit Guest. If I leave the guest running overnight, the Xorg will consume all available memory. This will then cause the virtual machine to abort due to lack of memory. Of course, Xorg will not release the memory to the OS, so it has to be restarted as well.

The system is a SUN Ultra24 with 8G memory, using the nvidia proprietary driver (version 180-22). Xorg has been clocked at using 7G virtual memory.

I suspect the screen-saver on the guest provokes the problem, but I could do with some hints on how to debug this. I would also like to hear from anyone else who is seeing this kind of problem.

Thanks in anticipation,

Tom.
