Either you rewrite a substanctiall part of VirtualBox or you can't use your software. The software, as you described, is hardware locked, meaning you can use it only on a hardware that is designed by Dell. As VirtualBox "emulates" a machine (that is not a Dell one) the software has no idea that, underlying the OS emulation, lies a Dell desktop/notebook. This behavior is intended and I doubt anyone at VirtualBox plans to use it :) Besides that... why are trying to make your fingerprit software work on a guest OS? You know that it won't allow you to login on Linux using it, right?
