Dear all,

I am working on an Intel machine running Solaris 10 and I am trying to
install Solaris 10 (again) in a Virtual Machine. Installation begins
through PXE Boot. I am facing the following problem:

If I use as Network adapters the "Intel PRO/1000 " adapters (any of the
two) the installation is extremely slow (by "extremely" I mean that for
something that should require only 30-40 minutes it would take more that
2 days (and more!). On the other hand if I use the PC net-FAST ||| (AMD)
adapter the task is executed in time (same stands for identical
configuration and physical machines). For various reasons (mostly
related to the JumpStart Server that is connected) I need to use the
Intel Adapters and so I am stuck.

I have found a somehow related ticket (for Windows though but indicating
the difference between the adapters): Ticket #2876 but nothing more than
that.

Do you have any ideas/clues on the subject?

Thank you very much!

Odysseas
