Thanks Klaus,

Hi,
I'd like to create a guest and use an iso image to install the OS for
the guest, rather than putting in a CD.
How would I go about booting the iso image?
This is a good opportunity to RTFM - the VirtualBox documentation
contains reference information on hoe to use VBoxManage, the CLI tool
for doing pretty much anything. In your case you either need the
mofifyvm or controlvm subcommands.
Looking at VboxManage, would I simply use controlvm with dvdattach to the
iso filename?
Yes. Sorry if it sounds cheeky, but in the time it took to ask this and
wait for an answer you could've easily tried it...
The iso has an installation image; is that sufficient to boot up the vm
and run through the installation?
Yes. You can even let VBox wait on the F12 boot selector, attach a DVD
and then boot off it straight away.
