Also, I see this same behavior when the output is fed directly to awk, if this matters for anything. Also, I've started noticing some slowdown when not using filters, so, the output of awk or grep would take some time and split two cyles together (in my case, eacho 10 seconds). If I output directly to screen this doesn't happen. Oh! Forgot to mention other thing in the last e-mail: this behavio also happens when redirecting to disk (> foo). I'm running Jaunty 64 bits.
