On Fedora 11 x86_64, vb-2.2.2, I've just installed the recent windows 7 rc, and the Guest Additions. All works fine, except no shared folder. I also have an XP vm, and I set up the shared folder ( which works in XP, showing up as drive V: ) the same way. In between the usb and hardware virtualization icons on the bottom of the screen, there's the icon for activity on the shared folder.

The log for the w7 vm shows the shared folder:

00:00:06.093 Changing the VM state from 'CREATING' to 'CREATED'.
00:00:06.093 SharedFolders host service: adding host mapping.
00:00:06.093 Host path /opt/1500gig/VirtualBox/shared, map name shared, writable 1
00:00:06.094 SharedFolders host service: add mapping result VINF_SUCCESS
00:00:06.094 Changing the VM state from 'CREATED' to 'RUNNING'.
..............
00:00:26.394 Guest Additions information report: additionsVersion = 0x00010004 osType = 0x00035000 00:00:26.469 Guest reported fixed hypervisor window at 0x000000008c800000 (size = 0x800000, rc = VINF_SUCCESS)
00:00:27.543 SharedFolders host service: connected, u32ClientID = 1

and it even shuts it down on power off:

00:01:42.908 ************** End of Guest state at power off ***************
00:01:42.908 Changing the VM state from 'RUNNING' to 'OFF'.
00:01:42.909 Console::powerDown(): A request to power off the VM has been issued (mMachineState=8, InUninit=0)
00:01:42.949 VRDP: TCP server closed.
00:01:42.956 SharedFolders host service: disconnected, u32ClientID = 1

I'm pretty sure shared folders worked in an Windows 7 beta vm, but I deleted it :(

Anybody have shared folders working on W7 rc?

sean

A little more info:

The Windows 7 here is release 7100, 32bit.

I tried setting the hd controller to both SATA and ATA.

I looked under Network Places for the shared folder.
