Using 127.0.0.1 instead of "localhost" makes little difference.
How long should it take to resolve localhost, anyway?

Howdy,

It's the resolution of your VM's host name. The easiest thing to try
is to make the sshd_config change on the host O/S.

I'm baffled. I have no idea what to change in (I presume)
/etc/sshd_config. And I don't see how the VM's host name
is involved since I'm connecting to localhost:2222, NAT
mapped to VM 22. Or is the delay in NAT itself? And I
wonder why this suddenly happened shortly after I created the
ssh key.

Thanks,
gil
