Version 3.0 will be a major update. The following major new features were

* Guest SMP with up to 32 virtual CPUs (VT-x and AMD-V only)
Cool !!
But does it mean that host processor should support VT-x or AMD-V ?
On my system this option is grayed out (old VBox) .
So do I need upgrade ? :-)
Unfortunately yes. It would be possible to implement SMP without
VT-x/AMD-V as well but this would be a notable additional effort
we cannot pay. Therefore guest SMP (as well as 64-bit guests) is
restricted to VT-x/AMD-V only.
Ok I will give it a try on next hw upgrade :-).
But number of virtual processors is arbitrary or tied (up to) to host
processor cores ?
Best regards
