Pablo,

For what I got he wants to install Solaris on the host system and THEN
load that up in VirtualBox.
If I got you right Will, than, yes you can do it, thou I'd not advise
you to do so. Its a lot easier to install Solaris on the Guest VM.

As pablo said read the manual and most of your users should be solved.
