Can't reproduce here... if I use the cursor left/right keys with the slider I get 16M steps (depends on how much RAM you have), and with the mouse I can push the slider to 768MB.
This is VBox 3.0.2.1 on Vista 64.
Don't think there is such a version - VirtualBox 3.0.2 is the latest released version. My test was on Vista 32.
not a biggie, but seems odd to me.
If everything else fails you can just enter whatever RAM size you want in the input field - any multiple of 4M is valid.
