Is there an recommended version of WineD3D that should be used with
VirtualBox 3.0.4? I enabled 3D acceleration and installed the 3D guest
additions followed by installing the latest WineD3D in safe mode from here:
http://download.savannah.nongnu.org/releases/wined3d/latest/wined3d.exe
And the success rate is pretty low. I noticed on the forums that DX7 is
a no-go, so I didn't install that feature and didn't bother with DX10
(it's an XP32 guest).
dxdiag test of DX8 and DX9 sort of works, but as soon as the spinning
box test completes, dxdiag crashes out. 3DMark06 fails to even start.
Is this as good as can be expected at the moment or is there an
important step that I am missing?
