Hello,
I discovered I cannot run multiple cpus on a Solaris guest, because turning on
ioapic
will reduce performances tremendously (and this seems to depend also on the
number of cpus allocated: 2 cpus seems still almost usable but slow, 4 cpus
becomes totally unusable, even services cannot start because of time outs).
My host is a 2x8cores 3Ghz Sun machine, total 16 cores.
I obviously would like to allocate more cores fore every VM, but if I omit
ioapic, these are not
seen by the system.
Is there any reason? Any combination of flags will let me allocate cpus without
ioapic?
Thanx for any help.
Gabriele.
