Greetings --

I am running Kubuntu Jaunty as my host system, Virtualbox OSE version 2.1.4_OSE, and Windows XP Pro as my guest system.

For no discernible reason, whenever I attempt to "Start" my guest system, I am now getting a terminal diagnostic. If I understand it correctly, it declares that it cannot find my Secondary Master IDE drive. The problem with this is simple -- there has never been ANY "Secondary" drive!

You always had a secondary master drive, the DVD drive. The error message you didn't mention is most likely that the DVD drive configuration you have is invalid. The image you're pointing to is gone or some such.

Immediately before this problem arose, I had barely completed the installation of a MASSIVE application -- over two weeks of work was needed for that installation!!!

I have been told that I will probably have to re-install Windows as a guest system. I would REALLY like to make the application's re- installation to be as quick and easy as possible -- but I cannot yet find a way to access those application data files using Dolphin (a File Manager) or any other tool. Can anyone give me the instruction that I need?
