well, i thought about sth : what about make a mechanism which would
set VMs to pause when it swaps too much ?

Yikes!  :)

?? :-D

RAM is very cheap.

i have really no money

Any reason you don't buy another 1GB stick of RAM?

it's steel 90 E on the applestore (on a new mac)

My personal computer has 6GB because I run up to three VM's;

i used to buy the cheaper mac, without any extra except the extended guarantee, and then i try to keep it 5 years

some with
1.5GB of RAM.

i would like to :-)

but yet i need only to run 3 VM with 256 Mb each (since it's the minimum to run linux), and some other software

i imagine a mechanism where VB would measure the time it takes to swap (for example each minute)
- if it is 0,
    let all the VMs running
- if it is all the minute,
    pause all the VMs
- get the duration, and give each VM the same duration to run, before pause it and run the next

note that this mechanism can work even if there is only one VM, and i think it can be usefull for the computer when the swap is caused by third-party softwares (when the computer would have swapped even if there were not any VM)
