I've been using a vmdk representing a raw host hard disk with VirtualBox 3.0.8 (Windows XP host and Fedora 11 guest). After I upgraded to VirtualBox 3.0.10, the guest failed to boot. According to the user manual, there is no change on the method to use a raw host hard disk from a guest. I remember there were no problem when I upgraded from 3.0.6 to 3.0.8.
