But it currently cannot be done via the GUI eh? Can the network
adapter be changed via CLI?
Huh? Cannot be done via the GUI? Of course it can. Since 3.1 the
"Devices" menu in the VM window has an item "Network Adapters...", which
allows you to make changes to the VM network configuration.
Of course one can do this via the CLI as well, with
VBoxManage controlvm nic<N>
btw, I think your idea is quite cool! For my laptop, I switch between
WiFi and Wired and as both are Bridged, it's an inconvenience to
restart my VM.
It's not an idea, it's already reality.
