Forgive me for opening this old thread again. I had and still have the
same problem using VirtualBox on OSX 10.5 with a Windows Vista guest.

When upgrading from 3.0.x to 3.1.0, one of my windows guests no longer
had any networking available. Two other guests (one XP, one Windows7)
still worked like a charm.

The Vista guest still had the network adapter attached, but could not
get an IP via DHCP (using NAT) and used 169.254.192.23 as its IP.
Changing the adapter from Intel PRO to PCnet and the other ones had no
effect. It seems that the connection between the guest and VB's
DHCP-server is not working.

Upgrading VB to 3.1.2 and OSX to 10.6 did not change anything. The other
guests are still working, the vista guest still has no working network.

Any ideas? Known issue? This old thread I am replying to did not give
any solution.

Regards,
OJ

When you say "I wrote a program that crashed Windows", people just stare
at you blankly and say "Hey, I got those with the system, *for free*".
