I'm using VirtualBox 3.12 on a Mac Pro under Snow Leopard (6.2). My one VM has eCS 1.2r as the guest OS. It had been running fine before instal- ling Guest Additions, including the 'shutdown' command from either the command line or RMB on the desktop.
I wanted to install Guest Additions to get both bi-directional clipboard support, and extra video modes (my monitor has a 16:10 ratio with native resolution of 1680x1050 x 24bit). So I followed the user suggestions I found on the VB forums and the instructions in the user manual, and suc- ceeded in installing the GA. Somewhere along in that process I must have lost the ability to shut down properly, because after it was all done, it ceased to work in any form I could think of. From the RMB invocation of the Shutdown desktop menu en- try I do get the window asking whether I want to shut down or reboot. With either choice when I hit OK there's a quick screen blink, then nothing at all happens - everything works just as tho I'd never asked for a shutdown. The CAD-Handler program (cad_pop.exe) also looks like it's working fine, except that again nothing happens - shutdown can't be consumated :) Anyone have any suggestions for solving this? I'm suspecting VBoxService might be the culprit, but I do want to retain the clipboard transfer func- tion. Thanks for any help offered. - Dushan Mitrovich _______________________________________________ vbox-users mailing list vbox-users@virtualbox.org http://vbox.innotek.de/mailman/listinfo/vbox-users
