Hi Chris,

I am having the same problem while trying to update my Nokia N97 firmware
with the following setup:

Kubuntu Hardy
VirtualBox 3.1.4
Nokia N97 (RM-505) connected via the original USB cable.
Latest Nokia Ovi Suite and Nokia Software Update

Two minutes in to the update process it suddenly restarts the phone and
looses connection.

I followed your advice and removed the contents of all the fields in the
N97's filter, except for the name and vendor ID (0421), while the VM was
off.

When i turn on the VM, it finds the phone and when I check the details (the
pop-up when I stand on the N97's filter under the Devices => USB menu, it
has all the detail back in here...

And of course the update process fails again...

Help please!
