Hi Chris, I am having the same problem while trying to update my Nokia N97 firmware with the following setup:
Kubuntu Hardy VirtualBox 3.1.4 Nokia N97 (RM-505) connected via the original USB cable. Latest Nokia Ovi Suite and Nokia Software Update Two minutes in to the update process it suddenly restarts the phone and looses connection. I followed your advice and removed the contents of all the fields in the N97's filter, except for the name and vendor ID (0421), while the VM was off. When i turn on the VM, it finds the phone and when I check the details (the pop-up when I stand on the N97's filter under the Devices => USB menu, it has all the detail back in here... And of course the update process fails again... Help please! AR. .:====================================================:.
