Hi folks!
I have encountered a strange behaviour (maybe a bug!) on my
Archlinux (64bit)!
Clicking on "Settings" button cause the VirtualBox GUI to disappear
(resp. crash).
The same is true for File --> Preferences!
As far as I have observed all other things work flawlessly!
Did somebody on this list encounter the same problem?
I'm using:
Archlinux x86_64
VirtualBox 3.1.4
Qt 4.6.1

As far as i know that's an error because of Qt 4.6 and because of the
virtualbox_bin PKGBUILD which is replacing the vbox built-in Qt libs.
You could downgrade Qt to 4.5 or take a look at the virtualbox_bin AUR page,
where someone posted a patch for the PKGBUILD.
Of course the best would be a fix for Qt 4.6, but i couldn't find
anything relevant to vbox und Qt 4.6

I had also the suspicion that the problem should be related
to my Qt version. By the way I'm using virtualbox-sun PKGBUILD.
Apparently this package also replaces the vbox built-in Qt libraries.
This problem is also discussed in Archlinux Forum
(cf. http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=91083).
