great! :), is this the only line in .qmail-default? and is that a pipe at the start of the line?

I did this very same thing when I migrated to qmail earlier this
year.

Put this in your .qmail-default:

| /home/vpopmail/bin/vdelivermail '' ${EXT}@ntserver.informs.com

This has worked well for me; I have one more batch of users to move
over by the end of the month, and then my old mail server is history,
along with all of it's stupid and annoying problems.  Yay!  :)
