Fellow vchkpw folks,

I'm having a POP3 authentication problem on our backup mail server. Here's
the setup.

Qmail 1.03 with tcpserver handling connections, and qmail-popup doing the
POP work.
        Authentication is against /etc/passwd.
        OS is NetBSD 1.4.2.

The problem: No matter what I do, I always get an authentication failure
when I try to hit the POP server on the backup box. The primary works fine.
The only difference that I can think of between the two is that the primary
is running NetBSD 1.5, while the backup is on the next release back.

Here's the weird part: The backup was working fine last night! I have no
clue what changed.

Additional oddity: When I tried using 'vadduser' to see if adding in a
user name would help (as opposed to using qmail's user list). I got this:

"Error: Unable to chdir to vpopmail/domains directory"

Which is silly because the directory exists, and it is owned by vpopmail.

Note: I'm running qmail stuff in /usr/var instead of just /var due to
limited space.

Further info on request. Help? Please? Thanks.
