Has anyone got vpopmail to work with OpenLDAP?

The reason why I ask this is because after successfully compiling
Vpopmail+OpenLDAP with quota support, all vpopmail binaries basically core
dump when ran (vadddomain, vadduser, vdeldomain, etc.)
When compiled *without* quota support, everything works fine. I can
add/delete domains and/or users. Users authenticate fine, and authentication
so far looks less expensive than when running mysql, in terms of cpu usage.
I am not sure if it consumes less memory though (I have 512MB RAM in my
testbed machine).
Now another problem I came across is, if the server is rebooted, OpenLDAP
LOSES ALL THE RECORDS it had. Yes, it loses all users and domain records
that it had saved. Readding the domains/users works, but why does it lose it
in the first place? Is this a bug in OpenLDAP? Am I overlooking something
obvious in the OpenLDAP setup?

I am using OpenLDAP 1.2.11, Vpopmail 4.9.8 (4.9.9 and 4.9.10 never compiled)

let me know,
manip
