I'm trying to run vpopmail with qmail on a linuxbox.
I followed the steps 1-6 (without step 5) described in
www.inter7.com/vpopmail/INSTALL, so I added the virtual domain "test.it"
(with postmaster's password) and the user "utente" with his password.
I sent a mail to "utente" using Outlook Express and it arrived in
/home/vpopmail/domains/test.it/utente/Maildir/new, but when I tried to
download the mail with both Outlook and Netscape the answer was
"authorization failed" and the log in the var/log/mail file was:
"Jul ... vpopmail[12037]: vchkpw: No user found
utente@:IP.of.client.computer".
I also sent a mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and it arrived in
/home/.../postmaster/Maildir/new, I configured Netscape to download
postmaster's mail and the download gave the same answer "authorization
failed", but also the log was the same:
"Jul ... No user found utente@..."; the log talked about the same user
"utente".
Any suggestions?
