Sorry folks, I forgot to add here that the local mail client like Outlook
Express, is authenticating the user without checking for the right password
i.e. even it prompts for the password, but doesn't authenticate it.

I am facing a new pbl of sorts. I have the following softwares running:
1. qmail 1.03
2. ucspi-tcp-0.88
3. daemontools-0.70
4. checkpassword-0.90
5. imap_4.5_maildirpatched-1.00 by David
6. vpopmail-4.9.10
6. MySQL 3.23.40
I have put all the tcpserver configuration commands in the qmail-pop3d run
script. I start the smtp and the imap services as ./run start. When I try to
receive incoming mails, I get the following in the terminal window:

Please note that I had created the email account [EMAIL PROTECTED] using
the ./vadduser command.
Any clues/suggestions, what could have gone wrong. Am desperately waiting
