If you change your mysql password, you break your vchkpw authentication,
simple as that. You'd have to reconfigure vpopmail and edit the vmysql.h
file and make the password whatever you changed it to.

The password for my mysql server is located in my libvpopmail.a file. I
search libvpopmail.a file on a box i recently installed qmail on (with a
more recent version of vpopmail), and I could not find the password in the
libvpopmail.a file.
