I had 5000+ users on a FreeBSD server. Just merged that onto 4 Linux boxes and added another ~4000 users. No problems here. Except that NFS sucks worse on FreeBSD than Linux.
BTW, Has anyone played with a "Coda super server"(as the docs call them)? I would like to use coda but I am kinda leary about the initial load of the metadata. Anyone using Coda to share out a 160Gig volume??
