[vchkpw] vpasswd and umask problem.

hi:
   i am using vpopmail 5.4.30 with cdb module.
   I tried to use "vpasswd" program  to change password, like:

  vpasswd a...@example.com 12345

  then  I found the permission of "vpasswd password file" become
"0666". (it was 0600).

  I need to set "umask 077" before using "vpasswd"  program to change
password to keep the permission.

however, adding new user seems not affect. like :

  vpasswd a...@example.com

  the "vpasswd password file" is still "0600" after that command.
