The real issue is the locking model on the CRUD operations. Are there any transactions in VCL beyond auto-commit operations ?


I'll sniff at the code but if there are multiple locks obtained you really need ot abstract to a data access model rather than simple database abstraction.

The web code is using php's built in support for mysql. So, it would probably
take quite a bit of effort to convert it all to be abstracted.
