Sorry for the unclear wording. I'm saying that the trust our users
have in the "pristine-ity" of upstream sources should not rely on the
fact that we do not change auto* files.
Hence if, for any reason, we find appropriate to recreate auto* files,
we should do that. In particular, if it helps in syncing with upstream
VCSs and get rid of tarballs, let's recreate auto* more often!
